Fairlie is a lovely town in which to live and raise a family. It has excellent facilities for children: playgroup, kindergarten, primary and secondary schools and other essential services: a medical centre with two brilliant doctors, local shops.
There are sports teams for kids and adults and it has a really active community offering a range of hobbies and special interest groups.
Housing is very affordable and there are local job opportunities within farming and service industries and Lake Tekapo, Geraldine and Timaru are all within commuting distance.
Fairlie is also very near three excellent ski fields: Mt Dobson, Fox Peak and Roundhill. Skiers and snowboarders will love being able to work in the morning then take off in the afternoon for a few hours to ski or snowboard on uncrowded slopes and school children can participate in organised school ski trips or join a local ski club.
